Concrete Countertops |
Although less time-consuming than floor polishing, this method still requires accuracy to produce the greatest results. The resultant texture and appearance will affect how it functions. A few different looks you can go for include smooth, salt and pepper, and exposed aggregate.
The frame is constructed, and the concrete is then poured and left to dry. This could take a day or perhaps a week. The following methods will work better the harder and dryer the tabletop is. Smooth Surface Concrete Countertop: A polishing pad-equipped orbital sander is used to sand down the countertop. While sanding, the countertop must be wet. You must use very little pressure when using the sander to avoid scraping the concrete's surface to the level of sand. The surface is then cleaned using a squeegee and water. It is finished if there are no little pinholes or scratches. Salt and Pepper Concrete Countertop: Wet the entire surface first, and then use a 50 grit polishing pad to sand. Just enough of the surface is removed to get close to the desired result. After that, we transfer to a 100 grit pad and polish the surface while keeping it damp. After removing the unclean water from the surface and applying clean, a 200 grit pad. A 400 grit pad is then used to duplicate the previous procedure. |
